Need Help

I help older teens and young adults during a transitional time in their lives; such as heading to college, coping with being away from home, launching into adulthood and a career… by giving them skills to understand and manage their “overthinking” brains so they can be successful in life.

FAQ

I do NOT bill insurances directly. On the 10th of the month following your sessions, you will receive a “superbill” for all paid sessions the month prior. You will then be able to submit the “superbill” to your insurance for reimbursement through your “out-of-network” benefits. You are able to use HSA/FSA funds to pay for our sessions. You can call your insurance provider to inquire about your “out-of-network” benefits.

I am currently only offering online telehealth sessions. We will meet in a HIPAA compliant website.

The initial 60-minute session is $175. Sessions after are $150 for 45-minute session.

I will work with what is most appropriate therapeutically for you. Most clients initially meet weekly for the first month or so to get symptoms under control by learning new skills. My goal is to not have you need therapy long-term.
Yes, I work well with adults struggling with depression, anxiety and grief. I have worked with all ages of adults. I am currently only offering individual sessions. I am willing to work with adolescents age 16 and older.

We will connect via a unique link. It will be similar to a “zoom” or “Facetime” call, except it is HIPAA compliant. I will welcome you and introduce myself and tell you about me, the limits of confidentiality, and obtain your verbal consent to continue. I will then ask you background questions to better understand what led you to seek help now. Here is a “Therapy Preparation Sheet” which could help you organize your thoughts.

Once you confirm your initial appointment, you will be given access to the patient portal online. There will be intake paperwork to complete. This would include:

  • Your contact information
  • Intake Questionnaire
  • Consent for treatment
  • Screening Tools for depression and anxiety
  • Practice Policies
  • Privacy Policies
  • Payment information
Clients tell me they know instantly whether we are a good fit. Finding the right therapist is like finding a pair of shoes. I am a size 9 shoe, but every size 9 shoe doesn’t fit me perfectly. AND I don’t want a pair of sandals to play in the snow.
I work well with certain populations, but I am not the best fit for everyone out there. If you do not feel a connection to me, please do not hesitate to say so, and I can refer you to another therapist.
100% ABSOLUTELY YES!!! Everything you share with me (outside of wanting to hurt yourself or someone else) is completely private. I share nothing with anyone without your explicit written permission. I have a private office in my home with a sound machine outside the closed door. My family knows when I am in session and I am not disturbed if they are home.
Yes. However, we would need to have 1-2 sessions for me to get to know you and your situation and understand how a support animal would benefit your mental health.
